Look Out World...

He's trying his darndest to get it going...It's not going to be long, if he could just figure out what to do with those knees once he picks one up off the ground...he usually gets frustrated and just pushes and ends up scooting backwards - but although he's not crawling formally - he is ALL over the place:)

go team!

Sunday, February 7, 2010 - the day that will forever be remembered by all Saints fans - the first appearance of the black and gold in the Superbowl. I, for one, am totally psyched! so much so that I made these shirts for Kate and Luke to don in support of our Saints on the big day! WHO DAT?!

and no matter the outcome (although I have total faith that we will walk away victorious) we are so proud of this year's team for all of their hardwork and dedication!
GEAUX SAINTS!!!
oh yeah, and we are in the middle of Mardi Gras- is there a better time to be living in South Louisiana? :)

it was a great day and I think we were the last ones out:)

Labor Day Weekend...pt 1

So the day started off with a trip to Wal-Mart :), lunch at Subway, and then we headed to North Park. It was a warm sunny afternoon but was not miserably hot.

My little guy thought it would be a better idea to nap.
Of course I couldn't argue with a nap under an old oak tree with a breeze blowing in my hair:)
READY
SET
GO!!
She had an absolute blast on the slides - and HAD to do it herself! Such a daredevil!
doesn't he look peaceful? and so handsome? :) (no I'm not biased)

Kate's not the only one that had a good time:)

Look at that face! She really enjoys life!

break time before we head home!
(and as you can see from the LSU jersey it was opening weekend for football:) ! too bad she doesn't have MSU clothes - but I'm on the hunt!)

that elusive little smile:)

Ok, so this cute little bundle of joy better known as my son has the sweetest smiles, yet everytime I pick up my camera to catch one - he stops smiling. I pull the camera away from my face to talk to him and get him smiling again only to have him stop the minute I pick it back up. "Nannie" says that she wouldn't smile either if she had that big ol' thing in her face either, "but I get much better quality with my big camera" I say. But for argument's sake I take out my point and shoot and give it a go, only to have the same result so it's back to the 'big-un'. Well I finally caught it Sunday morning after church and it was such a beautiful smile I actually almost cried :)
a tease...

catching him coming out of one...

a little closer...

AND FINALLY....

I got it, that full out sweet little baby laughing grin!

Doesn't it just melt your heart?

two months already

Yesterday, August 22, Luke turned two months old. It was a beautiful day so we were able to spend some time outside. Uncle Scott came over and cooked some awesome ribs for lunch and then Grandma came over to stay with Kate and Luke while Paul and I had our first adult night out in quite some time. We went to see Wayne Toups at Fred's and although I had a good time I was ready to see my babies when we got home:)

We went last Thursday for Luke's two month check up. He's a growing boy! He now weighs 10 lbs 1 oz and is 21 1/2 inches long. Doc says he's a "little guy" but not to worry he still has plenty of time to grow:) He got his vaccinations - 3 shots and one oral - and of course it was rough - I know they say its worse for me than him but that poor little cry and the look of pain told me that it wasn't exactly easy for him but lunch with daddy seemed to perk him up:) He ran a very mild fever Friday so I gave him a little more Tylenol but for the most part he handled them well.

We are still ok with me adding dairy but she wants me to hold off on peanuts and seafood/fish for a while longer (and of course I'm craving me a reese's peanut butter cup and some Middendorf's fried catfish - not together of course) Oh well anything my baby boy!

Tub Time

Remember this ??
Just one short month ago Luke absolutely hated his baths. I just knew that as soon as his cord button fell off and he was able to get a 'real' bath he would just love it - boy was I wrong.
This is not the face of a little boy who enjoyed his bath!

But now....
he looks much more relaxed, don't ya think?

"Ooh, Mama, that feels good"

Kate helping mama washing Luke's hair.

all dry and ready for his massage - which unlike his sister, he actually enjoys!

sweet babies

You can't tell me this isn't the most precious thing you've seen all day. If you can, then you gotta prove it:)
